Creative Connections & Commons Inc. is looking for English-Khmer Translators for a potential project.

We are looking for translators who can help us with a project that translates patterns of daily conversations from English to Khmer. The English-Khmer translation output will be potentially used for Cambodian nationals who are living in Japan and the project will run for 8-10 months.

Translation Project Description

The project aims to translate patterns of daily conversations from English to Khmer. The translation output will be potentially used for Cambodian nationals who are living in Japan.

The project is expected to begin from the last week of March, and will run for approximately 8-10 months.

Project Payment Method, and Payment Schedule

– Payments will be sent through wise.com

– Work done from 1st to 31st will be paid on the last day of the next month

Example: Work done from March 1 to March 31 will be paid on April 30

Translator Job Description

  • English-Khmer Translators are expected to translate texts from English/Japanese to Khmer
  • Revision of own translated work as necessitated by the client

English-Khmer Translator Job Requirements

  • 18 years old or more
  • Native Khmer speaker
  • Must have at least a professional working proficiency in the English language
  • Proficiency in the Japanese language is a plus
  • Must have a personal computer unit, and a stable internet connection
  • Must be able to meet weekly deadlines and project quotas

English-Khmer Translator Application Process

  1. Applicants will fill up the application form and attach their updated CV.  Form link: below*
  2. HR will send the applicant a non-disclosure agreement and the applicant will return it within 48 hours.
  3. Upon receipt of the signed non-disclosure agreement, HR will send the trial exam, and the applicant will return it within 48 hours.
  4. Checking the translation exam may take up to five business days. Regardless of the result, the applicant will receive a message from HR.
  5. If the applicant passes the exam, they will then be sent a job offer letter, asked to create an account on Wise.com (for salary/payment), and invited to the project Slack site.
  6. Once onboarded, the  successful applicants will then receive access to the materials, and trackers necessary to start working on the project.
  7. Project commencement.
