CCC’s Responsible AI Use Policy

At CCC, technology supports our work, but responsibility remains human.

We provide human-led localization and production services for manga, webtoons, comics, and multilingual content. Depending on the client’s requirements, our teams can work through entirely manual processes or approved AI-assisted platforms. In either case, every final deliverable remains subject to human review, quality control, and project-specific instructions.

We do not submit client content to generative AI systems or external AI tools unless their use has been expressly authorized for the project.

When a client prohibits AI-assisted processing, we follow a fully human workflow. When a client provides or approves a particular platform, we use it only within the agreed scope and security requirements.

CCC does not independently use client materials, translations, artwork, production files, or deliverables to train AI models.

We do not repurpose confidential content for internal model development, benchmarking, demonstrations, or unrelated projects without explicit permission. When third-party tools are approved, their data-handling conditions must be reviewed in accordance with the client’s requirements and CCC’s information-security procedures.

AI-generated or machine-assisted output is not treated as a finished deliverable.

Where approved AI tools are involved, qualified professionals remain responsible for reviewing and correcting the work. Depending on the service, this may include:

• Translation and post-editing
• Terminology and character-voice consistency
• Cultural and contextual appropriateness
• Line breaks and text presentation
• Typesetting and reading order
• SFX design
• Cleanup and artwork restoration
• Linguistic, visual, and final delivery QA

CCC remains accountable for the work we deliver. Technology does not replace our responsibility to identify errors, meet specifications, and correct issues.

We communicate honestly about whether a workflow is manual, machine-assisted, or conducted through a client-provided AI platform.

We do not describe machine-generated work as entirely human-produced. Likewise, we do not assume that work performed through an AI-enabled platform was completed without meaningful human contribution.

Where requested, we can document the tools used, the stages at which they were applied, and the human-review process performed before delivery.

Our AI-related practices operate within CCC’s broader confidentiality and information-security controls.

Access to client materials is limited to authorized personnel. Project files must be processed only through approved environments, and employees and service providers are prohibited from uploading confidential content to unauthorized tools.

Any suspected unauthorized use, disclosure, or processing of client content must be reported and investigated promptly.

We recognize that translators, editors, designers, artists, reviewers, and production specialists make essential creative and technical contributions to localized works.

Responsible AI adoption should not make human labor invisible. Where contracts and client policies permit, we support accurate acknowledgement of the professionals and production teams involved.

We also respect intellectual property, voice, likeness, and creator rights. AI-assisted visual or audio production must not imitate identifiable creators or performers without the necessary authorization.

CCC does not treat responsible AI use as a choice between people and technology. Our approach is to establish clear boundaries around when technology may be used, protect the materials entrusted to us, and ensure that qualified people remain accountable for every final result.

Whether a project is fully human-produced or uses an approved assisted workflow, our goal remains the same: secure, accurate, culturally appropriate, and publication-ready content.
